The answer is SAFE
I had ever worked for 5 years in credit card departments. And i had known everything about card holders credit cards data before i even asked.
But there are two secrets data that only known by cardholders, like CVC or CVV and your credit cards pin numbers. And Bank never ask about that, and you don't have to tell that numbers to your bank.
The purposes of asking you questions about your credit cards data is not for case reporting forms. But Bank uses it to verify you. To make sure that somebody on the phone is the real credit card cardholder.

What i experience in my office that bank really watch all their employee. They also recorded all computers screen and voices in the works area.
They recorded all activities related to cardholder data maintenance, they know everything.
And another secret, when a credit card issuer hire some call centers, i can tell that the first category that they are looking for are honest people. I say this because all people in my floor are really nice. They are also quite sensitive, maybe it just changes over time, people are more sensitive because handling angry costumer everyday.

Credit card has been more secure now. for some people who do not have special skills would be very difficulty to use your credit card data illegally. because it's been equipped with 3d secure code that you will receive when you do an online transactions, and 3d secure code with only sent to your registered mobile phone number.
Except,if you lost your credit card, somebody has chance to use it illegally.

Can call center change your credit card data information without any request from card holders ?
The Answer Is No
Call Center record or report your request, complains, and they can not do something like chancing your mobile phone number. But, the process will be done by correspondence teams. And to change a data, everybody need to login to the bank applications, means all activities are recorded.
